I really enjoyed this article. I've encountered fellow college students who intend to go to graduate school but have no idea about specific areas they would like to focus on.
I have an acquaintance who is beginning his first year of college. He says he plans to get his degree in Archaeology and continue to grad school. When I asked him what he enjoyed about archaeology, he responded with "I want to look at artifacts and travel like Indiana Jones." No joke. And I feel like many college students have similar mindsets-wanting to go to graduate school but have unclear purposes.
I'm majoring in Biological Anthropology on a Pre-Medical track. I intend to go to medical school and become a surgeon, but my other passion is Anthropology. Therefore, I'd like to get my degree in it to have something to fall back on. Unfortunately, some fields of study require a higher education than an undergraduate degree in order to get a job in that field. So even though it may not be for them personally, graduate school is necessary for some.
